Couple's Getaway Welcome Letter

Why did you come here?

No, I asked that wrong. Why did God in His infinite beautiful Wisdom give you both the Inspiration to attend this weekend and the Grace to act on it?

Let us not try to question His providence, but instead simply contemplate the reality that God wants you to have a profound, beautiful, and powerful marriage.

Maybe your marriage is amazing and the brightest thing in both your lives. Spend this weekend in Gratitude to God for such a marriage and enjoy the time to be alone together, strengthening an already rock-solid love affair.

Maybe your marriage is good, with some disconnection and the crosses that God has given you are spilling into how you treat each other. Spend this weekend, away from the noise of the world and all the busy-ness to remind your spouse that of all living souls, they are the most important and valuable.

But maybe your marriage is stretched thin. Maybe the Cross has become so heavy that you feel you are alone in your marriage at times. This weekend is for you as well. Spend the next two days looking at each other again through the eyes of the new bride and new groom; the couple who had such joy and dreams and vision and excitement - not only for the world - but for each other.

Take this weekend, away from everything, and talk to each other about your dreams and your hopes and the things that excite you. Take this weekend and kindle again some passion.

Remember why you chose each other - and why you wanted to spend your lives together - and whether you've been married for a few years or fifty, take the time this weekend to hold each other - as newlyweds - and vow again to be one for the other and only for the other - and let this weekend renew your love and desire and friendship with the only one that truly matters for the rest of your life.

You don't know what next year or five years looks like, but you know that this weekend, these next forty hours are set aside for the both of you - for your marriage and your family and your future.

Make this weekend a new beginning - you both deserve it!
